For Martha
Corgan: The only problem with this here Radio City is you're all so far away, and we're all so far away from you. That's the only problem in this place. And we can see that guy with the Siamese Dream poster, we can see you, but...so thank you for attending this special charity concert, to benefit the Hale House here in New York City, thank you for paying that little bit extra so we could raise more money for this great charity. We're sorry we don't have more laser lights and stuff, but we wanted to save money for the charity. It's just about the music, I guess. I'm not sure that works anymore in 1998, but we'll give it a try. Here's one of them laser-light songs.
Tonight, Tonight
Once Upon a Time
percussion solo / Zero (tease) / Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Shame
Corgan: Thank you, goodnight. Thank you.
[encore break]
Iha: You guys have been really great tonight. Tonight, all the money's going to -- for the last two shows have been going all to charity, it's called the Hale House, it's this great organization we visited in New York, and now we'd like to make a special presentation.
charity lady: Hello! Can you imagine that I get to hug this young man? Thank you, thank you so very much. I don't understand what Billy and James and Darcy have done for us, tonight this concert, and we get a portion of the money because you paid extra money for us, and we wanna thank you. The next time someone says "young people don't care", say "Hale House". I'd just like to have you meet a member of my team, and that's Greg Sullivan, another young man who cares.
Greg: We just wanna on behalf of all the staff at Hale House, and in particular all the babies, everyday that come there with drugs in their system, with all sorts of health problems, they're gonna get the care they need because of the generosity of the Smashing Pumpkins and all of you! Thank you very much!
Corgan: And now! Smashing Pumpkins are proud to present Hale House with a check for 419,175 dollars.
Iha: I thank you for all this charity work you have done. And now, it's time to rock.
