Where Boys Fear to Tread
Zero
Corgan: Hi, good evening, hello, hello, hello! We're the Smashing Pumpkins, thank you for coming.
Fuck You
Iha: Hey, thanks a lot.
To Forgive
Today
Thru the Eyes of Ruby
Porcelina of the Vast Oceans / Beautiful / Rocket
Corgan: Thank you. Um, you know when I was little I used to watch Dr. J play in this place. This is pre-Michael Jordan of course, and every kid wanted to be like Dr. J. So when I was little I used to watch this place on TV, and watch Dr. J play.
Iha: The Spectrum!
Corgan: Who knew? Iha: Who knew? Corgan: Who knew that I'd someday play here, but just not basketball.
Iha: How do you figure that?
Corgan: Because I was such a failure at basketball, I'm here now playing music for you.
Iha: Alright, how is everybody, ok?
Corgan: Wait James!
Iha: What, what, what?
Corgan: Why don't you tell everybody about your hoop dreams?
Iha: Well, my hoop dreams began just last year. I began, wait, well I began as a small child, just last year, learning how to ride a bike, I as a child never had a bike. I'm not just talking about a motorcycle, but a bike. And now, I now have the motor skills after playing in this band and after going to school, to learn how to ride a bike. I'm happy to be here in the Spectrum, in Philly, to share this story. It's like any other story, you might have one too. And I'd bring you all up on stage, but there's like fucking fifteen thousand of you, and we can't do that.
Disarm
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Cherub Rock
Tonight, Tonight
[encore break]
Corgan: Ready Steve?
Iha: Billy, the fucking B note won't get in tune. I'm sure this happens to you quite often. Ok, ready to rock and roll.
X.Y.U.
[encore break; tape stopped]
Corgan: ...we realize it's kind of late in the concert and everything, but seeing as how it's such an intimate evening, we thought we'd play something we don't know, you've probably never heard this song before, it's on an obscure Brazilian B-Side, but a lot of the fans of the band seem to like this song, so we thought you'd play it for you tonight. And now you know we don't play this song very much, so please be patient with us.
1979
Corgan: Thank you. We'd like to dedicate this next song to our friends and our family, the people we love, the people who help us, the people who take care of us. Without them we wouldn't be able to get up here and bore you every night, and of course to you, thank you.
Muzzle
[encore break; tape stopped]
Corgan: Uh...Ethan! I'd like to say a special thank you to you people way up there. No, not you! Those people WAY up there, I see you up there, rocking out, thank you. You too! Just kidding. And a special thank you to you crazy fuckers. Thank you to everybody for staying, we realize we're interminably long, but that's the way we like it.
Iha: Alright, let's turn your mind off.
Silverfuck / X.Y.U. (tease)
