Banter

Wretzky: Good evening. Sorry for keeping you guys for so long.
Iha: Hey.
Tonight, Tonight
Corgan: Yeah, I'm tuning when you're tuning. Needless to say, we're very happy to be here tonight.
In the Arms of Sleep
Corgan: Thanks a lot. So uh, just so you know, in case you didn't hear, we don't have any of our own stuff 'cause it got caught in the flood thing. So we're sorry about the delay and everything, it's beyond our control. I know, that's ok, but we just want everybody to know that we're sorry and we appreciate you still coming. I mean uh, we appreciate the extra effort.
Wretzky: We wanna thank all the bands that lent us equipment.
corgan: Yeah, a lot of the equipment is Alice in Chains, Soundgardens and Pearl Jam's.
Wretzky: Unfortunately the sound might not be what it usually is tonight 'cause we don't know how to work their stuff.
Corgan: We can't do the rock like they do, but anyway, we love them still, and we thank them very much. I think it says a lot about those bands...
Iha: They did give us a pretty good rental fee for it, I think like three-fourths price what it usually does.
Cupid de Locke
Thirty-three
Corgan: Is it loud enough? No or yes? All who say it's not loud enough, raise your hand. Well I guess you gotta turn it up.
Landslide tease
Today
Corgan: How 'bout turning down that loud rock amp of yours, huh?
Soma
Take Me Down
Iha: And now we get rid of the wicker chair. Now, stop, we're not gonna rock just yet. We're still gonna be a little bit...
Corgan: If you haven't suffered enough. Thank you.
Beautiful
Corgan: Like to play another golden oldie.
Rocket
Galapogos

Corgan: Thanks.
[set break]
MCIS (PA intro)
Where Boys Fear to Tread
Zero
Fuck You
Love
Iha: I'd uh, I'd personally like to thank Stone Gossard, for these amps.
Corgan: This looks like a McCready model to me.
Iha: I think you've got McCready. After the show I will be backstage selling one of these, he said it's cool.
To Forgive
Corgan: Ok like, we're gonna try this one, 'cause its a new one, we hope you like it. Ready Stone, I mean James?
Iha: What? What's that?
Corgan: That's I'm alive...
Alive tease
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Corgan: We broke Darcy's cord, so it'll be a moment, I'm sorry. That's James, Jimmy, Darcy. Iha: Billy.
Corgan: We are the Monkeys, we're the rats in the cages, that's right. Is it fuckin' loud enough or what? Turn it up or turn it down?
Iha: Turn it up.
Corgan: There's this whole weird part in the middle where they don't know what to do.
Iha: Bruce? Our soundman Bruce. These fucking people wanna hear louder guitars.
Wrezky: Where are you Bruce? He's not even here!
Corgan: He went home, he's had enough of this bullshit.
Wretzky: Yeah, he's a smart guy.
Corgan: Are you ready to rock again?
Wretzky: Aren't they?
Thru the Eyes of Ruby
Disarm
Iha: What? Oh, yeah.
Corgan: It's your part in the script.
Iha: So, now that we're in Seattle, it's time to rock.
Geek U.S.A.
Cherub Rock
Corgan: Here have some water, okay? Are you in tune yet there, Darcy?
Wretzky: I'll be there soon enough.
Corgan: Would you like a D note?
Wretzky: I'm doing the A note.
Iha: Whoa!
Wretzky: Our tuners didn't make it through the river.
Corgan: You're almost there little injun.
Wretzky: Close enough.
Iha: So, we hope you're having fun. We hope you're enjoying this lo-fi Smashing Pumpkins concert.
Corgan: We figured that we could be like Pavement playing Smashing Pumpkins songs. Not that Pavement could play these songs, but you can go with it in your brain. Random notes.
Porcelina of the Vast Oceans
Corgan: Like to play one more song. Thank you again, you've been totally fucking awesome, cool. You've given us a great gift, that's your patience and your attention, we appreciate that very much. We know we never smile enough but we're having a good time, I swear. Like to play one more syrupy love song and then we'll go away.
X.Y.U.
[encore break]
Iha: Thank you very much. We're feeling very mopey with our equipment. I feel though as if the button on my trousers were to snap. Would you like to see the button on my trousers snap? I'm just kidding, it's just a Spinal Tap-ism. So anyways, we're glad you're having a fun time at our low-tech show, and this next song is crazy. You're gonna love it.
1979
Corgan: Thanks a lot. Like to do the twenty-fifth song off of Mellon Collie and the infinite, infinite tea.
Muzzle
Silverfuck / Space Jam tease / Drown tease
Corgan: Thanks. Bless you, goodnight, you guys have been great, thank you.
[encore break]
Corgan: Thanks. We'd like to try to do one more song. We can't thank you enough for putting up with the late hour and the long songs and all that stuff. Thanks up there! Thanks down there. And uh, thank you much. And you! Thank you. And you, thank you.
Iha: And uh, we'd also like to thank all the bands, and all the rental people for all this stuff.
Corgan: And also, a nice round of applause for our road crew who've been here all day trying to make this happen. They're lovely people, and we've given this song to them.
Farewell and Goodnight
Corgan: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Wretzky: Thank you, goodnight.
Corgan: We're glad we could make this happen. Ah, everybody left.
