Banter

Host #1: Let me introduce the Smashing Pumpkins. They were number one on the college charts and they won Best New Group and Debut Album of the year. They have been playing in the Chicago area since 1980(!). Their live shows are incredibly powerful
Host #2: I understand there is a Japanese member in the band?
[Iha looks down embarrassed]
Host #1: Do you speak Japanese?
[Iha shakes head]
Corgan: He's second... second generation
Host #2: Oh I'm sorry
Host #1: Why do you call yourself The Smashing Pumpkins?
Host #3: It's a funny name
Chamberlin (mock astounded): It is?
Corgan: God... God's joke
Chamberlin: We thought it was funny too
Host #2: Like a voice from the heavens?
Host #1: You have a very strange sense of humour
Corgan: That's the American culture
