Johanna
BC: Thank you very much. Good evening. (crowd shouting) It’s your birthday today? Should we sing you Happy Birthday? (Liesegang plays 2 lines of Happy Birthday.) Is that Happy Birthday?
Girl in audience: (laughing) Yeah it is.
BC: Kinda. (Liesegang starts playing again and quickly stops again) That’s Happy Birthday in there. There’s Happy Birthday in there though. Alright, we’ll sing Happy Birthday to you. (starts singing in slowed down voice) Happy birth - what’s your name, sorry. Maggie? Alright, Maggie. Happy - it’s her 16th birthday. We have to, uh...we have to encourage her while she’s still hopeful and innocent.
Happy Birthday
BC: And many more.
DIA
Pretty, Pretty Star
BC: Yeah, this is art, be quiet. Heh heh heh. How’s everybody doing, you alright? I’m very glad we’re in our 2nd season: summer. Winter and summer. Two seasons. You know, um, this is the first time I’ve ever played the Vic but, um, I was on this stage once before when I was 19, um...for some reason, uh, the Vic was being turned into a nightclub at that time and there was a, there was a, some sort of audition, guitarists come and I had to stand up here in front of a bunch of old men and play a solo to a Billy Idol song. True story. And the guy was like, “That was really good. We’ll give you a call” and then they never called. And that man was Tommy Kline, if anyone knows Tommy Kline. A heh heh, sorry. I didn’t realize then it was like a gay bondage night...thing.

BC: (coughs loudly) Just one more time, wanted to say god bless you very much, thank you very much for coming, um, you make me smile and um....you put that idea in my hi - mind. Put that idea in my mind, that part of me that wants to break guitars and...heh heh heh. Thank you for getting me back on that horse and, uh, we’ll see you again. Thank you. (blows kiss)
