The concert took place on a boat docked at Genoa's Porto Antico. Tickets cost 45,000 lira (US$25) and were being scapled for three and four times that. The 2,500 available tickets sold out in less than 12 hours.

The entire concert was professionally video taped from a tripod 50 yards from center stage and a roving camera on stage. The concert was broadcast on Radio Due FM 05.18.98, incomplete at 60 minutes, but includes an interview conducted the afternoon of the show.

During the soundcheck, the keyboardist Mike Garson was having timing problems on "For Martha" which were addressed by Billy. "For Martha" was played again, with more bass and mic volume, per Billy's request. Billy worked with the three percusionists for a while between "Perfect" and Appels + Oranjes.

James wore sunglasses for most of the show and a funny fisherhat.

For the encore, Billy and James wore scarves the colors of the two local soccer teams, Genoa and Sampdoria, and recreated a match, which Billy won. After the game, the balls were kicked into the crowd. Billy finished "Thru the Eyes of Ruby" first, thanked the crowd, then lifted James on his shoulders while James finished the song.

Thanks to Scott Palumbo, Giovanni Saponaro, Laura Prioli, and Giuseppe Lio for the info!
